Can I move my plan to another account or pay for someone else?

A plan cannot be moved between accounts, but anyone can pay for your pass by approving the EcoCash prompt on their own phone.

  • Android app
  • Murudo Web

A plan cannot be moved: passes, Forever plans, boosts and wallet credit stay on the account that bought them. But someone else can pay for your account. At checkout you can type any EcoCash number, and the owner of that number approves the prompt on their own phone.

Let someone else pay for your pass

This works in the Android app downloaded from murudo.co and on Murudo Web.

  1. In your own account, open Profile, tap See Plans and choose your pass.
  2. Tap the button that starts with Get Plus or Get Gold, then tap EcoCash.
  3. Under Phone number, type the EcoCash number of the person who is paying.
  4. Make sure they have their phone in their hand, then tap Send USSD prompt.
  5. They enter their own PIN in the prompt on their own phone. The prompt only lasts about a minute.
  6. Your screen shows Payment Successful and the pass is on your account.

It works the same way with OneMoney and a NetOne number.

Murudo may remember that number for your next renewal. If you see Saved number ending and four digits that are not yours, tap Change number or method and type your own.

If you use the app from Google Play

Google Play charges the Google account on your phone, so you cannot type someone else's number there. To have someone pay with EcoCash, log in to Murudo Web with your account and follow the steps above. The pass is then active in your app too.

What cannot be done

  • Move a pass, a Forever plan, boosts or wallet credit to another account, including another account of your own.
  • Share one plan between two people.
  • Buy a gift code or voucher. Murudo has none.
  • Pay for someone else's account from inside your own account. The payment has to be started in the account that will get the pass.

Before you pay for someone you met online

Be careful about paying for a person you have not met. If a match asks you for money, including "just for my Murudo pass", read Someone asked me for money first.
