My unfinished account was removed

If you signed up but never finished setting up your profile, Murudo removes the unused account after sending reminders. A removed account cannot be brought back, but you can sign up again straight away with the same email address.

This only happens to accounts whose profile was never launched. Once your profile has gone live, your account is not removed for being unused, however long you stay away.

How to tell this is what happened

• You never reached Review and launch, the last step of profile set-up.
• Logging in now says Incorrect email or password or Incorrect username or password. Continue with Google starts a new account and asks What's your first name?
• You may have an email from Murudo Updates with the subject Murudo reminder: your draft profile will be cleaned up or Your unused Murudo account will be deleted soon.

When an unfinished account is removed

Set-up was never started. If you created the account but saved nothing in profile set-up and added no photo, Murudo sends two reminders in the days after you sign up. The second one says how long is left: at the time of writing, about 12 more hours. If nothing has been saved by then, the sign-up is removed.

Set-up was started but the profile was never launched. If you then do not open Murudo for over a month, Murudo sends a warning by email, and as a notification if your phone has them on. The email says how long you have: at the time of writing, about 7 days. Open Murudo in that time and finish your profile, and the account is kept. If the unfinished profile had no usable photo, the account can be removed after the same month away without a warning.

The month-away rule does not apply to an account that has ever paid for anything, has a payment still being checked, holds an active pass or credit, or has ever had a match. Those accounts are kept.

Why you may not have seen a reminder

• Reminders go to the email address on the account. Look in your spam folder for Murudo Updates.
• If you unsubscribed from Murudo Updates emails, the reminders stop, but an unfinished account can still be removed.
• A username account has no email address, so it only gets notifications, if they are on.

Sign up again

1. Open Murudo and tap Create account.
2. Sign up with the same email address or Google account as before. A username can be chosen again if nobody else has taken it.
3. Go through every step to Review and launch and tap Finish. See Set up your profile step by step.

Photos and answers saved in the old unfinished profile are gone, so add them again. There were no matches or chats to lose, because an unfinished profile is not shown to anyone. Your progress is saved if you stop part-way, but only a launched profile is safe from removal.
