First date checklist
A short list to run through before, during and after a first date with someone you met on Murudo.
- Android app
- Murudo Web
For a first date, meet in a public place in the daytime, tell someone you trust where you will be, and get there and back on your own. The full list is below. The app keeps its own copy under Profile, Safety.

Before you go
- Chat in Murudo until you feel comfortable, and look for the Verified badge on their profile.
- Choose a public place: a cafe, a restaurant or a park. Not your home, their home or anywhere isolated.
- Meet in the daytime for the first few dates.
- Tell a friend or family member who you are meeting, where, and what time you expect to be home.
- Share your live location with that person. The Safety Center explains how to do it in Google Maps and links to Google's instructions.
- Arrange your own transport there and back, and carry enough money to get home by yourself.
- Charge your phone, and make sure you have airtime or data.
On the date
- Stay in the public place. If they suggest going somewhere private, it is fine to say "not today".
- Go easy on alcohol, and keep your drink with you.
- Keep your phone, money and keys on you.
- Do not lend or give money, however the request is put.
- Trust your instincts. If something feels off, it is OK to leave. You do not need a reason.
Afterwards
- Let your friend know you are home.
- You do not owe anyone a second date. If you would rather not continue, you can unmatch.
- If your date frightened you, pressured you or ignored a no, read Report something that happened on a date. Report before you unmatch, so our team can still read the chat.
