I am worried about another member's safety
What to do if someone on Murudo says they may harm themselves, or seems to be in danger from another person.
- Android app
- Murudo Web
If you think someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services, or urge them to. Murudo is not an emergency service and cannot send help to a person. Once that is done, tell our team through Report an Issue so that a person can look at what is happening.
If they say they may harm themselves
- Take it seriously, and stay calm. You do not need perfect words. Listening helps.
- Encourage them to reach someone close to them now: a family member, a friend, a doctor, or their local emergency services.
- If you know where they are and you believe they are in immediate danger, contact the emergency services for that place.
- You are not responsible for fixing this alone. Look after yourself too.
If they seem to be in danger from someone else
Signs might be messages that sound controlled or frightened, talk of being threatened, or hints that someone else is using the account. Encourage them to contact their local emergency services, and tell our team. If you think the person is under 18, read Report someone who may be under 18.
Tell Murudo in the Android app
Do not unmatch first. Unmatching deletes the chat, and the chat shows what they said.
- If they are a match: open the chat, tap their name at the top, tap Report and choose Other. Under Add more details (optional), say that you are worried about this person and why. Reporting from their profile links your report to their account.
If you cannot open their profile: open Profile, tap Safety, then Report a Safety Concern. Choose Other concern. Under Describe what happened, give their first name, age and city, what they said and when.

Say clearly that you are worried about the person, not complaining about them.
On Murudo Web
- A match: open the chat, tap their name at the top, tap Report, choose Other and explain under Details (optional).
- Anyone else: open Profile, tap Safety, then SOS Report. Choose Other safety concern and explain under Details.
What happens next
A person on our team reads every report. Murudo cannot promise to contact the member or to tell you what happened afterwards, which is why the emergency services come first when someone is in danger.
