Other people's photos, memes and AI pictures
Your profile photos must be real photos of you. What is not allowed, what happens if you upload it, and what to do about a fake profile.
- Android app
- Murudo Web
Every photo on your profile must be a real photo of you. Photos of someone else, memes and joke images, and pictures made by AI are removed, and uploading them again and again can get your account suspended.
What is not allowed
- Someone else's photos. A friend, a celebrity, a stranger from the internet, or anyone who is not you. Using another person's photos is impersonation, which the Community Guidelines forbid.
- Memes and joke images. A picture that is not a genuine photo of you.
- AI-generated pictures. An image made by AI, even one made to look like you, is not a real photo of you.
The same applies to every photo slot, not only your main photo.
What happens if you upload one
The photo is removed and you get a notice that names the reason:
- Photo removed: this isn't you
- Photo removed: not a genuine photo
- Photo removed: AI-generated image
The notice explains that, to protect our community and make sure every profile on Murudo is authentic, your photos must be real, clear photos of you. It also carries this warning: "Uploading photos of other people, memes or AI-generated pictures again will result in your account being banned."
If the removal leaves you with no clear photo of yourself, your profile is hidden from other members until you add one. See Why was my photo removed?
What to upload instead
Use bright, real photos where your face is visible. The full list is in What photos are allowed, and the steps are in Add, replace or reorder your photos.
If you want other members to know your photos are really you, get the verified badge. It compares a selfie with your profile photos.
If you are verified and change your photos
A new photo that does not look like the person who was verified may be held for our team to check before it is shown. Your badge stays while it is checked.
If someone else is using a fake photo
- If a profile looks fake, report it and choose the reason that starts with Fake profile. The steps are in Report someone.
- If someone is using your photos or pretending to be you, read Someone is using my photos or pretending to be me.
If your photo was removed by mistake
Upload a clear replacement, or contact support if you believe the decision was wrong: open Profile, Inbox, Contact Murudo, or email support@foretellhq.com. Say your username or email and which photo it was.
