When to share your number or move to another app
Phone numbers are not allowed on profiles, but you can share one in a chat after you match. Keep early conversations in Murudo.

Phone numbers are not allowed on profiles, but once you have matched you may share your number in the chat if you choose to. There is no rule about when. Our advice is to keep your first conversations in Murudo and share contact details only when you feel ready.
Why it is worth waiting a little
- A phone number can lead to your full name, your other accounts and more. On Murudo the other person sees only what is on your profile.
- In Murudo you can unmatch, block or report someone in a few taps. A block on Murudo does not stop them contacting you on another app.
- People running scams often push to move to another app within the first few messages. See Spot a romance scam.
- A number cannot be taken back once it is sent. Deleting the message only hides it on your side.
Signs you may be ready
- You have chatted for long enough to have a sense of the person, and their story stays the same.
- Their profile has the Verified badge. It helps, but it is not a guarantee about the person.
- They accept "not yet" without pushing.
When you do share
- Share your number in the chat, not on your profile. A number written on a profile is refused. See Why can I not put my phone number on my profile?
- Never share a password, a PIN, a verification code, bank or mobile money details, or your home address.
- Never send money to someone you have not met. See Someone asked me for money.
- If you are planning to meet, read Staying safe when you date.
If someone pressures you
You can say no. If they keep pushing, ask for money or turn rude, report them from their profile, then unmatch or block them. If the trouble carries on in another app after you have left the Murudo chat, you can still report the person to us. See Report someone.
