Staying safe at Murudo events

Murudo staff host and moderate every event, and the venue is shared only with ticket holders. How to look after yourself before, during and after.

  • Android app
  • Murudo Web

Murudo events are set up to be a safer way to meet people: the app states that Murudo staff host and moderate every event, and the exact venue is shown only to members with a confirmed ticket. You still look after your own safety, as you would on any outing.

What Murudo does

  • Staff host and moderate each event.
  • The venue stays private until your ticket is confirmed. Before that, members see only the city.
  • Entry is by ticket. Each QR ticket is signed and belongs to one member's booking.
  • Events are for members aged 18 or over with an active Murudo profile. Murudo may also require a verified profile to book.
  • The app does not show members a list of who else is attending.
  • Everyone with a confirmed place can talk in the event's group chat, unless the event has none. Our team can read it to keep people safe.
  • The Murudo rules apply at every event.

Before you go

  • Tell a friend or family member where you are going and when you expect to be back.
  • Arrange your own transport there and home. Do not rely on someone you have just met for a lift.
  • Charge your phone and make sure you have data. You need a connection to open your ticket.

At the event

  • If someone makes you uncomfortable, tell a member of Murudo staff straight away. You do not need a reason to walk away from a conversation.
  • Keep an eye on your drink and go easy on alcohol.
  • Share your number only if you want to. "No" and "not yet" are complete answers.
  • Never give money, or bank or mobile money details, to someone you have just met.
  • Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, it is fine to leave.
  • If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.

Afterwards

To report something that happened at an event:

  1. Open the Profile tab and tap Safety.
  2. Tap Report a Safety Concern.
  3. Choose the type of issue, describe what happened and name the event, then tap Submit Report.

You can also email support@foretellhq.com. If the person is one of your matches, you can report or block them from their profile as well. See Report someone.
