"Too many attempts" or "Slow down" messages
Why Murudo sometimes asks you to wait, how long each wait lasts, and how to avoid being stopped again.
- Android app
- Murudo Web
These messages mean you did the same thing too many times in a short while, so Murudo paused that one action. Your account is not suspended and nothing is lost. Stop, wait for the time below, then try once.
Which message, and how long to wait
- Too many attempts. Please wait a minute and try again. or Rate limit exceeded: too many tries at logging in, signing up or asking for a code. Wait one full minute.
- Too many invalid attempts. Try again later.: a wrong 6-digit code was entered 5 times. Codes for that email are locked for up to 15 minutes. Asking for a new code does not shorten the wait.
- Too many recovery attempts. Try again later.: the same lock, for recovering a username account. It also lasts up to 15 minutes.
- Slow down, with "You're swiping too quickly. Give it a moment and try again.": you liked or passed faster than Murudo allows. Wait a moment, then carry on at a normal pace.
- You're opening profiles too quickly. Please wait a moment.: the same, for opening profiles.
- Too many changes too quickly. Wait a minute and try again.: a privacy switch was turned on and off several times in a row.
This is not the daily like limit
Free members have a set number of likes each day, and it resets daily. When they run out, Murudo opens the Premium screen. Waiting a minute does not bring likes back. See I have run out of likes.
How to avoid it
- Stop guessing a password. After two or three wrong tries, reset it. See Reset a forgotten password.
- Use the newest code only. Each new code replaces the one before, so an older email no longer works. Wait for the latest email, then type the code carefully.
- Tap once. While a button is working, tapping it again only adds to the count.
- Try another connection. Login tries are counted for each internet connection. On Wi-Fi shared with many people, such as at work or on campus, the limit can be reached sooner. Switching to mobile data may help.
Still stopped after waiting
If the same message is there after 15 minutes, close Murudo fully and open it again. If it still appears, tell support the exact words and what you were doing. See Contact Murudo support.
If your account is suspended, you see a screen named Account Suspended. That is a different thing: see My account was suspended or banned.
