Turn Murudo notifications on or off
You turn Murudo's notifications on or off in your phone's settings, all of them or one group at a time, or in your browser for Murudo Web.
- Android app
- Murudo Web
There are no notification switches inside the Murudo app. On Android, you turn Murudo's notifications on or off in your phone's own settings, all of them or one group at a time. On Murudo Web, you use Browser notifications in Settings.
The groups on Android
Each group has its own switch, so you can keep messages and stop reminders, for example.
- Messages: new messages, photos and reactions in your chats, and reach-outs.
- New matches: when you and someone like each other.
- Likes: when someone likes your profile.
- Account and payments: payments, your pass ending, removed photos and replies from Murudo support.
- Reminders and offers: Daily picks, reminders about chats, matches and likes waiting for you, news and offers.
- General: anything else.
The quickest way to stop one group: press and hold a Murudo notification of that kind, then switch it off.
If you see one switch instead of these groups, close Murudo and open it again. If they still do not appear, update Murudo. If you had turned Murudo's notifications off before, you keep one switch, General. Switch it on, open Murudo again, and the groups appear.
In the Android app
- Open your phone's Settings app.
- Tap Apps, then Murudo.
- Tap Notifications.
- Switch All Murudo notifications on or off, or switch one group on or off below it.
On most phones there is a shorter way: press and hold the Murudo icon, tap App info, then Notifications. The names of these menus differ a little from phone to phone.
When you set up your profile, Murudo asks once with Enable notifications and Maybe later. If you tapped Maybe later, the steps above are how you turn them on afterwards.
On Murudo Web
- Open Profile, then Settings.
- Tap Account.
- Next to Browser notifications, tap Enable, then allow them when your browser asks.
To stop them, tap Turn off in the same place. On an iPhone, notifications only work after you add Murudo to your Home Screen. Until then the button reads Install first. See Get notifications on Murudo Web.
Good to know
- Logging out stops notifications on that phone or browser until you log in again.
- A message notification shows the sender's name and the start of the message. To keep that private, turn notifications off, or hide notification content in your phone's lock screen settings.
- Pausing your account stops reminders. Messages from your matches still reach you.
- Reminders are not sent from 22:00 to 7:00, Zimbabwe time. They come in the morning instead. Messages, matches and likes arrive at any hour.
- Emails are separate. See Stop or change emails from Murudo.
