# I am not getting notifications

Checks to run when Murudo notifications do not arrive on Android or on Murudo Web, from phone permissions to battery saver.

Notifications are controlled by your phone, not by a switch inside Murudo. Usually they are turned off for Murudo in Android's settings, or the phone is saving battery. Work through these checks in order.

## On Android

1. **Allow notifications for Murudo.** Open your phone's **Settings**, tap **Apps**, **Murudo**, **Notifications**, and switch them on. Below that, check that the group you are missing, such as **Messages** or **Likes**, is switched on too.
2. **Open Murudo and stay logged in.** Your phone is set up for notifications when you open the app while logged in. After logging out, reinstalling or moving to a new phone, open Murudo and log in first.
3. **Check Do Not Disturb.** Also check that your phone is not on silent.
4. **Stop battery saver holding Murudo back.** Battery saver and data saver can delay notifications until you open the app. In your phone's **Settings**, under **Apps**, **Murudo**, look for the battery setting and choose the one that does not restrict the app. The names differ from phone to phone.
5. **Check your connection.** Notifications need mobile data or Wi-Fi.
6. **Update Murudo.** See [Update Murudo to the latest version](https://help.murudo.co/troubleshooting/update-murudo/).

If you changed the app icon, look for the name Murudo: notifications and your phone's Settings keep the real name.

## What is normal

- A like notification does not say who liked you. Open the **Likes** tab to see.
- While your account is paused, reminders stop. Messages from your matches still arrive.
- Murudo sends an email about a new match only when no phone or browser has notifications on for your account.
- On Android, each group, such as **Messages**, **Likes** or **Reminders and offers**, has its own switch. See [Turn Murudo notifications on or off](https://help.murudo.co/settings/notifications/). On Murudo Web, notifications are all on or all off.

## On Murudo Web

Open **Profile**, **Settings**, **Account** and look at the button next to **Browser notifications**:

- **Enable**: tap it, then allow notifications when your browser asks.
- **Blocked**: your browser is blocking notifications for Murudo. Allow them for murudo.co in the browser's site settings, then reload the page.
- **Install first**: on an iPhone, add Murudo to your Home Screen, open it from there, then tap **Enable**. See [Add Murudo to your iPhone Home Screen](https://help.murudo.co/murudo-web/add-murudo-to-your-iphone/).
- **Unavailable**: this browser cannot show notifications. Use another browser or the Android app.
- **Turn off**: notifications are already on for this browser. Check that your phone or computer allows notifications from the browser itself.

Browser notifications are set for each browser separately. For more, see [Get notifications on Murudo Web](https://help.murudo.co/murudo-web/murudo-web-notifications/).

## Still nothing

Tell support your phone model, your Murudo version and which notification did not arrive, for example a message from a match at a certain time. See [Contact Murudo support](https://help.murudo.co/settings/contact-support/).
