# Using Murudo on a slow or lost connection

What the Android app shows when you are offline, what still works from saved data, and what waits until you are back online.

When your connection drops, Murudo shows **No internet connection** at the top of the screen and keeps showing what it saved the last time you were online. Nothing is lost. Your account, matches and chats are kept by Murudo, not only on your phone.

## What you may see

- **No internet connection**: a small banner at the top. Tap the cross to hide it. It comes back after about 30 seconds if you are still offline, and goes away by itself when the connection returns.
- **Showing your saved Daily**: Daily could not refresh. Your quiz answers and introductions are still saved, and Murudo retries by itself. Tap the round arrow to retry now.
- **Showing saved matches. We'll refresh automatically.**: you are looking at the list saved on your phone. Tap the round arrow to retry now.
- **Showing saved events. Tap to retry.**: the same, on **Meets**.
- **Unable to load profiles** on For You: pull down to try again.
- **Couldn't load your likes**: tap **Try again**.
- **Matches didn't load**: your matches have not been deleted. See ["Matches didn't load" and saved matches](https://help.murudo.co/matches-and-chat/matches-did-not-load/).

## What works offline

- Opening the app and reading your saved matches, your Daily introductions and messages you have already loaded.
- Writing a message. It waits, and the chat shows how many messages are waiting to send when you are back online. See [My messages are not sending](https://help.murudo.co/matches-and-chat/messages-not-sending/).

## What needs a connection

- Liking, passing and seeing new people.
- Logging in or signing up.
- Uploading photos. On a weak connection Murudo retries by itself while the app stays open. See [My photos will not upload](https://help.murudo.co/troubleshooting/photos-wont-upload/).
- Paying. Do not start a payment on a connection that keeps dropping. If one was cut off, see [What "Checking your payment" means](https://help.murudo.co/premium-and-payments/checking-your-payment/).

## Tips for a slow connection

- Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data if one is stuck. Turning aeroplane mode on and off makes your phone look for the network again.
- Photos you have already seen are kept on your phone, so they are not downloaded twice.
- Keep Murudo open until a photo has finished uploading.
- If a message says **The request timed out**, wait a moment and try once more. Tapping many times does not help.

## On Murudo Web

Murudo Web needs a connection to load. See [Murudo Web is not loading or looks wrong](https://help.murudo.co/murudo-web/murudo-web-not-loading/).
