# Murudo will not open, freezes or is slow

What to do when the Android app stays on a loading screen, freezes, closes by itself or feels slow.

Close Murudo fully, check your connection and open it again. That clears most freezes. If it keeps happening, find your case below.

## Murudo will not open

1. **Close it fully.** Open your phone's recent apps, swipe Murudo away, then open it again.
2. **Restart your phone.**
3. **Update Murudo.** See [Update Murudo to the latest version](https://help.murudo.co/troubleshooting/update-murudo/).
4. **Free some space.** A phone with almost no storage left struggles to open any app. Delete a few old videos or apps you do not use.
5. **Reinstall.** Your account is not affected. See [Reinstall Murudo without losing your account](https://help.murudo.co/troubleshooting/reinstall-without-losing-your-account/).

If you see **Murudo is locked**, nothing is wrong: the app lock is on. Tap **Unlock**. See [Lock Murudo with your fingerprint or face](https://help.murudo.co/settings/app-lock/).

## Murudo opens but shows a spinner or old information

Murudo needs the internet for almost everything. On a weak connection it opens with what it saved last time and updates when it can. Look for **No internet connection** at the top of the screen, then see [Using Murudo on a slow or lost connection](https://help.murudo.co/troubleshooting/no-internet-or-slow-connection/).

## Murudo freezes or closes by itself

- If you see **Something went wrong** with a **Try Again** button, tap it. See ["Something went wrong" and other error messages](https://help.murudo.co/troubleshooting/something-went-wrong/).
- Close other apps you are not using, then restart your phone.
- Update Murudo. A fix may already be out.
- If it always happens in the same place, for example when you open one chat or add a photo, tell the team exactly where. Use **Profile**, **Settings**, **Report a bug** and include your phone model and version. See [Request a feature or report a bug](https://help.murudo.co/settings/send-feedback/).

## Murudo is slow

- Photos take the longest to load. Ones you have already seen are kept on your phone, so they appear faster the second time.
- Try the other kind of connection: Wi-Fi if you are on mobile data, or mobile data if you are on Wi-Fi.
- Turn off your phone's battery saver or data saver for a moment to see if that is what is slowing things down.

## Clear the cache

If nothing else helps and you do not want to reinstall yet, open your phone's **Settings**, tap **Apps**, **Murudo**, **Storage**, then **Clear cache**.

> [!WARNING]
> Do not tap **Clear storage** or **Clear data** unless you are ready to log in again. It signs you out and resets what the app keeps on your phone, such as dark mode and the app lock. Your account itself is safe.

## On Murudo Web
