# You must be 18 or older

Murudo is only for adults aged 18 and over. How age is checked at sign-up, what to do about a wrong birthday, and how to report someone under 18.

You must be at least 18 years old to use Murudo. There are no exceptions, and it is the same on Murudo Web, the app from Google Play and the app downloaded from murudo.co.

## How age is checked

When you set up your profile, Murudo asks for your birthday. The app says: "You must be at least 18 to use Murudo. Your age will be shown on your profile." If the date you enter makes you younger than 18, you cannot continue.

Other members see your age. They do not see your full date of birth.

## Give your real birthday

The [Community Guidelines](https://murudo.co/guidelines/) ask for accurate profile information, and that includes your age. An account or content that suggests a member is under 18 is restricted and reviewed by our team.

If you made an honest mistake when you entered your birthday, you can correct it once yourself. After that, only support can change it. The steps are in [Fix your birthday or age](https://help.murudo.co/profile/change-your-birthday/).

## Zero tolerance for harm to children

Murudo does not tolerate any sexual content involving a person under 18, grooming, or any attempt to use Murudo to reach minors. Action can include removing content and permanently suspending the account, and we report apparent child exploitation to the authorities as the law requires. The full policy is the [Child Safety Standards](https://murudo.co/child-safety/).

## Report someone who may be under 18

If a profile or a conversation makes you think the person is under 18, report it straight away.

1. Open the person's profile and report them.
2. Choose the underage reason: **Underage user** or **Underage**. If the list you see does not have it, choose **Other concern**.
3. Write what made you think so, for example something they said about school or their age.

The full steps are in [Report someone who may be under 18](https://help.murudo.co/safety/report-an-underage-user/).

You can also email [support@foretellhq.com](mailto:support@foretellhq.com) with the subject "Child Safety Report". Include the name on the profile, the city, and a screenshot if you have one.

> [!WARNING]
> If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services or the police first.

## If you are under 18

Please do not use Murudo. If you already have an account, [delete it](https://help.murudo.co/account-and-login/delete-your-account/), or email support and ask us to remove it.
