# The Murudo rules in plain words

What is and is not allowed on Murudo, what happens when a rule is broken, and how to report someone who breaks one.

Murudo is for respectful, honest dating between adults. This page puts the [Community Guidelines](https://murudo.co/guidelines/) and the [Terms of Service](https://murudo.co/terms/) in plain words. Those two pages are the official versions: where this page and they differ, they are what counts.

## Be respectful

- No harassment, hate speech, threats or bullying.
- Respect consent and boundaries, in messages and in person.
- No sexual coercion and no abusive behaviour.

## Be authentic

- Use your real identity and give accurate information on your profile.
- No impersonation, catfishing or misleading profile content. Your photos must be real photos of you.
- Do not make a second account to get around a suspension or a ban.
- You must be [18 or older](https://help.murudo.co/rules/you-must-be-18/).

## Keep it safe

- No scams, phishing, extortion or financial manipulation.
- Do not share another person's private information without their consent.
- No promotion of illegal activity, trafficking or exploitation.

## Content standards

- No violent, hateful, sexually explicit or sexually exploitative content.
- No spam, repeated adverts or using Murudo to promote something else.
- Profile photos and prompts must follow the moderation rules. See [What photos are allowed](https://help.murudo.co/profile/photo-rules/) and [Why can I not put my phone number on my profile?](https://help.murudo.co/rules/phone-numbers-on-profiles/)

## What happens when a rule is broken

Depending on how serious it is and whether it has happened before, the guidelines allow our team to:

- give a warning
- remove the content, for example [a photo](https://help.murudo.co/rules/photo-removed/)
- suspend the account for a time
- ban the account permanently

A third suspension becomes a permanent ban. If your account has been restricted, read [My account was suspended or banned](https://help.murudo.co/rules/account-suspended-or-banned/). If you believe the decision was a mistake, you can [appeal](https://help.murudo.co/rules/appeal-a-suspension-or-ban/).

## Report someone who breaks the rules

Use the report tools in the app: on a person's profile, or in the **Safety Center**. Every report is reviewed by a person, and action is taken on evidence and on these rules. The steps are in [Report someone](https://help.murudo.co/safety/report-someone/).

If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.

## Read the rules inside the app

In the Android app, open **Profile**, tap **Settings**, then **Account and security**, then **Terms & Privacy Policy**. The Terms there include a section called **Community Guidelines**.
