# Choose which answers show on your profile

Hide your religion, ethnicity, relationship type, children, family plans, drinking or school from other members with Visible on profile.

Some answers on your profile can be hidden from other members: relationship type, ethnicity, children, family plans, religion, drinking and your school. You still give the answer, and you decide whether it shows.

## Hide or show an answer in the Android app

1. Open the **Profile** tab and tap **Edit Profile**.
2. Tap the row, for example **Religion**.
3. Under the list of choices, tap **Visible on profile**. It changes to **Hidden on profile**.

Tap it again to show the answer. The change is saved straight away. In the Edit Profile list, a hidden answer has **Hidden** after it.

For your school, tap **School / institution**. The same button is under the school box.

## What hiding does

- Other members do not see that answer anywhere on your profile.
- You still see it in Edit Profile.
- [Preview Profile](https://help.murudo.co/profile/preview-your-profile/) leaves it out, because the preview shows what others see.
- If someone uses an [advanced filter](https://help.murudo.co/finding-people/advanced-filters/) for an answer you have hidden, you do not appear in their filtered results. A hidden answer is treated as not given.

## What cannot be hidden

Your first name, age, photos, bio, prompts, interests, gender, height and what you are looking for always show on your profile.

To hide other things:

- Your city: turn off **Show my location**. See [Hide your last active time or location](https://help.murudo.co/privacy/hide-last-active-and-location/).
- Your whole profile for a while: see [Pause your account to take a break](https://help.murudo.co/account-and-login/pause-your-account/).

> [!TIP]
> Some lists include **Prefer not to say**. Choose it if you do not want to give an answer at all, rather than giving one and hiding it.

## On Murudo Web

1. Open the **Profile** tab and tap **Edit Profile**, then **Lifestyle**.
2. Under the answer, untick **Show on profile** to hide it, or tick it to show it.
3. Tap **Save** at the top.

The box for your school is in **About You**, under **School / institution**.
