# My verification is pending or did not work

Verification pending means a person at Murudo is reviewing your selfie. What to do while you wait, and how to retake a selfie that failed.

**Verification pending** means the automatic check could not be sure, so a person at Murudo will compare your selfie with your profile photos. You do not need to do anything while you wait, and you can keep using Murudo as normal.

## While your verification is pending

- The **Profile** tab shows **Verification pending** under your name.
- You cannot send another selfie until this one has been reviewed. The verification screen shows **Your previous submission is still under review**.
- In the Android app your photos are locked. **Photos** in Edit Profile shows **Photos are locked while verification is pending** until the review is done.

Murudo does not give a time for this review. When it is done, the line under your name changes to **Verified**. If your selfie was not approved, it goes back to **Not verified** and you can try again.

If you have been waiting several days, contact support from **Profile**, **Inbox**, **Contact Murudo** and include your username or email.

## Why a selfie goes to review

The automatic check approves a selfie only when it is confident. These make it less sure:

- Fewer than three photos on your profile that clearly show your face.
- Profile photos with other people in them, or where your face is small, dark or covered.
- A selfie that looks different from your photos: poor light, a hat, sunglasses or an unusual angle.

## The selfie could not be submitted

If you see **Could not submit selfie**, read the reason on the screen, then tap **Retake selfie**.

- No face detected: keep your full face inside the guide, in good light.
- Face too small: hold the phone closer.
- **Camera Required**: allow Murudo to use the camera in your phone's settings, then try again.
- **Verification submission failed**: check your connection and try again.

For more, see [The selfie check is not working](https://help.murudo.co/troubleshooting/selfie-check-problems/).

## Your selfie was not approved

1. Check your photos. Every photo must be a clear photo of you: see [What photos are allowed](https://help.murudo.co/profile/photo-rules/).
2. Tap **Not verified** on the **Profile** tab and take a new selfie that looks like your photos.

If you believe the decision was wrong, contact support and say so.

## You had the badge and lost it

If our team removes one of your photos, your badge is removed with it. Add a clear photo of yourself, then [get verified](https://help.murudo.co/profile/get-verified/) again.

## If you signed up with a username

The selfie you took when you signed up is also compared with your profile photos once your profile is finished, so you may see **Verification pending** without having asked for it. Nothing more is needed from you.

## On Murudo Web

The **Profile** tab shows **Verification pending** while your selfie is reviewed. If the selfie could not be submitted, tap **Retake selfie**.
