# Write your bio and choose interests

Your profile needs a bio and at least 3 interests before it is shown. How to change them, and why phone numbers are refused.

Your bio and your interests are both required. A profile needs a bio and at least 3 interests before it is shown to other people. You can have up to 8 interests.

## Change your bio in the Android app

1. Open the **Profile** tab and tap **Edit Profile**.
2. Tap **Bio**. The **Name & Bio** screen opens.
3. Type in the **Bio** box.

There is no Save button for the bio. It is saved a moment after you stop typing. It cannot be left empty.

## Choose your interests in the Android app

1. Open the **Profile** tab and tap **Edit Profile**.
2. Tap **Interests**.
3. Tap an interest to choose it. Tap it again to remove it.

Your choices are saved by themselves. Two limits apply:

- You cannot go below 3. If you have exactly 3 and want to swap one, choose the new one first, then remove the old one. Otherwise you see **Choose at least 3 interests.**
- You cannot go above 8. Remove one before you choose another.

Interests come from a list. You cannot type your own.

## Phone numbers are refused

Phone numbers are not allowed in a bio, written as digits or as words. The same goes for prompts, interests and your school. You see **Phone numbers aren't allowed on profiles. You can share contact details after matching in chat.**, and the change is not saved until the number is gone.

## On Murudo Web

1. Open the **Profile** tab and tap **Edit Profile**.
2. Tap **About You** for your bio, which can be up to 500 characters, or **Interests** for your interests.
3. Tap **Save** at the top.

Murudo Web will not save with an empty bio or fewer than 3 interests.
