# Remove the profile of someone who has died

If a Murudo member has died, a relative or friend can email our support team and ask for the profile to be removed. What to send us.

We are sorry for your loss. If someone who used Murudo has died, email [support@foretellhq.com](mailto:support@foretellhq.com) and ask us to remove their profile. You do not need a Murudo account to write to us.

## What to send

The more of this you can give, the easier it is for our team to find the right profile:

- the first name shown on the profile
- the city shown on the profile
- one or two of the profile photos, or a screenshot of the profile if you can still see it
- the email address or phone number the person used for Murudo, if you know it
- a document or notice of the death, such as a death certificate, a death notice or a funeral programme
- your name and how you knew the person

A clear subject line helps, for example "Profile of a member who has died".

## What happens next

There is no form for this. Each request is read and handled by a person on our team.

We look for the profile and check what you sent. We may write back to ask for more before we act, because we must be sure that it is the right profile and that the request is genuine. We cannot promise how long this takes.

Do not send us the person's password or any login code. We do not need them.

## If seeing the profile is painful

If you use Murudo and the profile appears for you, you do not have to wait for it to be removed. Open the profile and block it, and you will not be shown it again. The steps are in [Block someone](https://help.murudo.co/safety/block-someone/).

## If someone is pretending to be a person who has died

That is impersonation, and it is against the [Community Guidelines](https://murudo.co/guidelines/). Report the profile in the app, or email support with the same details as above. See [Someone is using my photos or pretending to be me](https://help.murudo.co/safety/fake-profile-or-impersonation/).
