# Requests from the police or courts

How the police, a court or another authority can ask Murudo for information, what to include, and what a member should do after a crime.

Murudo shares information with law enforcement when the law requires it. That is the rule in the [Privacy Policy](https://murudo.co/privacy/). Requests go to [support@foretellhq.com](mailto:support@foretellhq.com), and they should come from an official address.

## If you are making a request for the police or a court

Email [support@foretellhq.com](mailto:support@foretellhq.com) from your official work address. There is no separate portal or form. Murudo is operated by Foretell Technologies (Private) Limited.

Include:

- your name, rank or title, your agency and how to reach you
- the legal basis for the request, with the order or other document attached
- the account you are asking about: the username, email address or phone number if you have it, or else the first name and city on the profile, with a screenshot
- exactly what information you need, and for which dates
- a case or reference number

Our team checks that a request is genuine before acting on it, and may ask for more before anything is shared. We cannot promise a time for a reply.

## If a child may be at risk

Murudo has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. When we become aware of it, we report it to the appropriate authorities as the law requires and cooperate with lawful investigations, and we preserve the information needed for a safety investigation. See the [Child Safety Standards](https://murudo.co/child-safety/). Use the subject "Child Safety Report" for anything of this kind.

## If you are a member and a crime has happened

1. If you are in danger now, contact your local emergency services.
2. Report the crime to the police.
3. Report the person in Murudo as well, so our team can act on the account. See [Report someone](https://help.murudo.co/safety/report-someone/).
4. Keep your own evidence. Take screenshots of the profile and the chat before you unmatch, because unmatching deletes the chat. See [Take a screenshot to send to support](https://help.murudo.co/troubleshooting/take-a-screenshot-for-support/).

We do not hand one member's personal details to another member. The Privacy Policy allows them to go to law enforcement when the law requires it, so give the police the person's name on Murudo and your screenshots, and they can contact us.

## If the request is about you

Murudo shares information about an account with an authority when the law requires it. For what Murudo holds, see [What Murudo knows about you](https://help.murudo.co/privacy/what-murudo-knows-about-you/).
