# Log in with a passkey on Murudo Web

Save a passkey on Murudo Web to log in with your fingerprint, face or screen lock, remove it, and what a password change or reset does to it.

A passkey lets you log in to Murudo Web with your fingerprint, face or screen lock instead of typing a password. Your phone or browser keeps it for you. Passkeys work on Murudo Web only. The Android app does not use them; it has its own [app lock](https://help.murudo.co/settings/app-lock/).

## Save a passkey

Log in to Murudo Web first, in a browser such as Safari or Chrome.

1. Open the **Profile** tab and tap **Passkeys**. On a computer, open **My account** at the bottom left and tap **Passkeys**.
2. Murudo opens **Settings**, **Account**. At **Passkeys**, tap **Save passkey**.
3. Confirm with your fingerprint, face or screen lock when your phone or browser asks.

You see **Passkey saved.** The row now reads **Passkey saved for this account.**, and under it **Saved on** with the date, and a **Remove** button.

Murudo may also offer this after you log in, with **Set up your passkey now**. Tap **Set up passkey**, or **Skip for now**. If you skip, that browser does not ask again. You can still save one in **Settings** at any time.

## Log in with your passkey

1. Open https://murudo.co/app/. If you see the welcome screen, tap **Sign in**.
2. Tap **Continue with passkey**.
3. Choose your Murudo passkey if you are asked, then confirm with your fingerprint, face or screen lock.

You do not type an email, a username or a password. Your other ways of logging in still work.

**Continue with passkey** is shown in every browser that can use passkeys, even if you never saved one. It only works on a device that holds your passkey.

## If it does not work

- There is no **Continue with passkey** button, or Settings says **Passkeys are not available in this browser.** Open murudo.co/app in Safari or Chrome itself, not inside another app.
- **That passkey is no longer saved on Murudo.** The passkey on your device was removed from your account, for example when your password was reset. [Log in](https://help.murudo.co/account-and-login/log-in/) another way, then save a new passkey in **Settings**.
- **Passkey log-in did not finish.** You closed the prompt, or this device has no Murudo passkey. Try again, or log in with Google, your email or your username.

## Remove a passkey

1. Log in to Murudo Web and open **Settings**, then **Account**.
2. At **Passkeys**, next to **Saved on** and the date, tap **Remove**.
3. On **Remove this passkey?**, tap **Confirm**. You see **Passkey removed.**

The passkey stops logging in to Murudo at once. Your other ways of logging in stay the same, and **Save passkey** is shown again.

- Your phone or browser may still list the old Murudo passkey with its saved passwords. It no longer works. You can delete it there.
- Murudo keeps one passkey for an account. To use a different one, remove the saved one first, then save a new one.

## Passkeys and your password

- **Changing your password**, when you know the current one, keeps your passkey. On Murudo Web, the **Change Password** screen shows a box, **Also remove the passkey saved on this account**, when you have one. Tick it if someone else may have saved that passkey. The Android app has no such box, so remove the passkey on Murudo Web.
- **Resetting your password** with a code from your email removes your passkey, and so does recovering a username account with a selfie. Both also log out every other phone and browser. On Murudo Web you are told the passkey was removed, and you may be offered a new one when you next log in there. You can also save one in **Settings**.
- **Adding a password** to a Google account on Murudo Web keeps your passkey, and shows the same box if you want it removed. Adding one in the Android app removes a passkey saved on Murudo Web. You can save a new one afterwards.

> [!WARNING]
> Save a passkey only on a device that is yours: anyone who can unlock it can log in to your Murudo account. If the **Passkeys** row shows a passkey you did not save, tap **Remove**, then read [I think someone else has used my account](https://help.murudo.co/account-and-login/someone-else-used-my-account/).
