# Pay for an event ticket

Event tickets are paid through Paynow with EcoCash, or by card or bank. Your place is held for about 15 minutes while you pay.

Event tickets are paid through Paynow, with EcoCash or by card or bank. This is the same in the app from Google Play, the app downloaded from murudo.co and Murudo Web: event tickets are not paid through Google Play. Each event has its own price, shown on the event before you pay.

## Pay with EcoCash in the Android app

1. Open the event on the **Meets** tab and tap **Pay** followed by the price. **Event checkout** opens.
2. Under **Payment method**, tap **EcoCash**.
3. Type your EcoCash number under **Phone number** and tap **Send USSD prompt**.
4. When the screen says **Check your phone**, approve the prompt on your phone with your EcoCash PIN. Type your PIN only into the EcoCash prompt, never into Murudo or a chat.
5. Wait for **You're going**, then tap **Open QR ticket**.

## Pay by card or bank

1. On **Event checkout**, tap **Other**. It says **Card / Bank** underneath.
2. Tap **Continue**. A secure Paynow page opens.
3. Finish the payment there and come back to Murudo. The screen shows **Complete payment** while it waits. If the Paynow page closed too early, tap **Resume secure checkout**.

## While you pay

- When you start a payment, Murudo holds your place for about 15 minutes. The event shows **Payment pending** and its button changes to **Continue payment**.
- If the payment is not finished in that time the hold ends and the place can go to someone else. You can start again if places are left.
- **Checking your payment** means Paynow has not yet told Murudo the result. You can close the screen and Murudo keeps checking. Do not start a second payment while you see it.

> [!IMPORTANT]
> **Payment needs review** means Paynow reported a payment but no ticket was issued. The app says Murudo staff will review it and refund it when required. Do not pay again. Contact support from **Profile**, **Inbox**, **Contact Murudo** with the event name, the number you paid from and the payment reference from your EcoCash or bank message.

## If the payment does not go through

- **Ready to try again** means it is safe to start a new payment. Tap **Try again**.
- **Event details changed** means the event or its price changed before your payment started. Tap **Back to event** and check the details.
- EcoCash needs an Econet number, and the prompt only lasts about a minute. For more help, see [My payment is not going through](https://help.murudo.co/premium-and-payments/payment-not-going-through/).

## On Murudo Web

Tap **Pay** followed by the price on the event. A **Book event** window opens. Choose a payment method (EcoCash is marked **Recommended**), follow the steps, and wait for the message that your payment is confirmed and your spot is reserved.
