# Join an event waitlist

When an event is full, tap Join event waitlist. The waitlist does not book a place for you, so check the event again and book when a place opens.

When every place at an event is taken, its card says **Waitlist** and the event page shows **Join event waitlist** where the booking button was. Joining puts you on the list, but it does not hold or book a place for you.

## Join the waitlist

1. Open the event on the **Meets** tab.
2. Tap **Join event waitlist**.
3. **YOUR STATUS** changes to **On waitlist**, and the event is listed under **My events**.

Joining costs nothing. You pay only if you later book a place at a ticketed event.

## When a place opens

A place opens when someone cancels or does not finish paying. Murudo does not move you into it automatically, so do not wait for a notification.

1. Open the **Meets** tab, tap **My events** and tap the event.
2. If a place is free, **Reserve my place** or the **Pay** button is back, above **Cancel reservation**.
3. Tap it and finish the booking.

Places go to whoever books first, and your status becomes **Going** only after you have reserved or paid.

## Leave the waitlist

Open the event, tap **Cancel reservation** and confirm. Your status changes to **Cancelled**.

## The balance list is different

If you reserved a free Gold seat and the app says **You're on the balance list**, that is a separate list, and it does confirm your seat automatically. See [Free seats for Gold members](https://help.murudo.co/meets/free-gold-seats/).

## On Murudo Web

A full event shows **Full**. Tap **View**, then **Join event waitlist**. You see **You joined the waitlist.** and the event shows **On waitlist**.
