# My messages are not sending

Check your connection first. A message with a red mark was not sent, so tap the mark to try again. Messages written offline go when you are back online.

Most messages that will not send are waiting for a connection. Check that your phone is online, then look at the mark beside the message. A clock means it is still trying. A red circle means it was not sent, and you can tap it to try again.

## Work through these in order

1. Check your connection. Open a web page, or switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data. If Murudo shows **No internet connection** or **Slow connection**, that is the cause.
2. Leave messages that show a clock. In the Android app, messages you write while offline are saved, and the chat shows how many are **waiting to send when you're back online**. They go by themselves when the connection returns, so do not type them again.
3. Tap the red mark. A red circle with an exclamation mark beside a message means it was not sent. Tap the mark to send it again. On a photo, tap **Retry** on the picture.
4. If you see **Messages couldn't refresh. Tap to try again.**, tap **Retry**.
5. Close Murudo fully, open it again, and check you have the latest version. See [Update Murudo to the latest version](https://help.murudo.co/troubleshooting/update-murudo/).

## If there is no message box

If the bottom of the chat says **This conversation has ended**, the match is over: one of you unmatched or blocked the other, or the other account is gone. Nothing more can be sent there. See [Why did my match or chat disappear?](https://help.murudo.co/matches-and-chat/match-or-chat-disappeared/)

## Limits that stop a message

- A text message can be up to 2,000 characters. Split a longer one in two.
- A photo must be JPEG, PNG or WEBP and no larger than 5 MB. Videos cannot be sent.
- Sending a great many messages very quickly can be refused for a short while. Wait a minute and try again.

## On Murudo Web

A message that failed shows **Not sent** with a **Retry** button. If the page has been open for a long time, reload it.

## Still stuck

Contact support from **Profile**, **Inbox**, **Contact Murudo**. Say which chat it is, what you see on the screen and your app version, and attach a screenshot. See [Contact Murudo support](https://help.murudo.co/settings/contact-support/).
