# Can I change my username or phone number?

No. A username cannot be changed and there is no screen for changing a phone number. Here is what you can change instead.

No. A username is fixed when the account is created, and neither the app nor Murudo Web has a screen for changing a phone number. The name people see on your profile is separate, and you can change that.

## Your username

- A username is only for logging in. Other members never see it. They see the first name on your profile.
- It cannot be changed, in the app or on Murudo Web.
- Murudo does not show your username anywhere after sign-up, so keep a note of it. If you type it with an @ in front or with capital letters when you log in, Murudo still recognises it.

The only way to have a different username is a new account. That means [deleting this one](https://help.murudo.co/account-and-login/delete-your-account/), which removes your matches, chats and Premium for good. Keeping two accounts is not allowed: see [Can I have more than one account?](https://help.murudo.co/rules/more-than-one-account/)

## Your phone number

- The optional phone number you could give while setting up your profile cannot be edited afterwards. It is not shown on your profile.
- The recovery contact saved on a username account cannot be changed in the app either. See [Recovery details for username accounts](https://help.murudo.co/account-and-login/username-recovery-details/).
- If you pay with EcoCash or OneMoney, the number you pay with is not fixed to your account. You type it when you pay, so you can pay from a different number next time. If Murudo offers to use your saved number for a renewal, tap **Change number or method**.

## Your email

An email can be changed only before it is verified. See [Change or add an email address](https://help.murudo.co/account-and-login/change-your-email/).

## If a detail is wrong and you cannot fix it

Contact support: in the app, open **Profile**, **Inbox**, then **Contact Murudo**, or email [support@foretellhq.com](mailto:support@foretellhq.com). Say which detail is wrong and why, for example that you no longer have that number, and give your username or account email. Support will tell you what is possible. Do not send your password or recovery phrase.
